There is a one time membership fee to Miss America that must be paid before competing in your FIRST local of the season. If you have already competed this season, you do not need to do this again. If it is your first local of the season, please follow the link below and register and pay the fee.

 

The Miss America Opportunity has partnered with the American Heart Association and requires a $30 fundraising donation to the organization. The link to set up that information is below.

Eligibility

Teen Candidates:

-Must be no YOUNGER than 14 by September 1 and no older than 18 on Sept 30, 2026.

-Be a US citizen

-Must meet residency requirements for competing in your city or state

*Miss America HQ is reinstating the option for 18-year-old contestants to have a ‘pivot’ year to decide whether they would like to compete in the Teen or Miss divisions.

 

*A TEEN must not be more than 18 years old at the FIRST DAY of the State competition and must be at least 14 years of age. To clarify, the date of determining this age criterion remains the first day of the published State competition schedule.

 

*Additionally, once an 18-year-old decides on the division she may compete in, she may not change divisions until the next cycle.

Miss Candidates:

-Must be NO OLDER than 28 on September 30, 2026, and no younger than 18 on Sept 1, 2026.

-Be a US citizen

-Be single with no legal dependents

-Meet requirements (school or residency) for competing in this local

Miss and Teen Candidates:

-Cannot currently hold a title outside of the Miss America Organization, including county fair queens, festival titles, or other state or national systems

Specific Eligibility Requirements for "Miss" Titles

Miss Collegiate South: CLOSED-

Must be students or graduates of colleges located in Indiana's southern counties including Rose Hulman, Depauw, Earlham, Hanover, IU East, IU Columbus, IU Southeast, Evansville, USI, Oakland City, St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Ivy Tech (located in southern Indiana), Vincennes, as well as previous years titleholders or graduates from Indiana State or Indiana University. Also seniors in high school who do not qualify as a teen contestant and who attend a southern Indiana high school.

Miss Southern Indiana: OPEN to eligible Miss contestants who live, go to school, or work full time in Indiana
